He called me and said, ‘You should come to Northern.’ I went one year to Upward Bound, and then decided this is the perfect place. I’m involved in TRIO and the International Student Club, and I’m an orientation leader. Next semester I’m making my own club, called the Multicultural Student Union. Right now with my summer job on campus, my biggest goal is to create that club. I wanted to be active on campus to manage my time and to get experience. My dream is to become a president for my home country. I want to help my country, since in Somalia it’s hard to get a good education. So if I learn here, I can teach them what I learned so I can help the community. Coming from Mogadishu, Aberdeen is kind of small to me, but people are very kind. It’s a cool place and Northern is the best choice for me.” – Abdulahi (Ab) Ali #beNORTHERN #unleashYOURpotential #NorthernStateU A post shared by Northern State University (@northernstateu) on Jun 28, 2019 at 11:08am PDT Contact Information For more information about the General Studies (BGS) course,?call 605-626-2267.
